Washington Avenue Drinkery Houston

"Unpretentious yet trendy bar on the Washington strip."

Drinkery on Washington Avenue, Houston, The Drinkery bar, drinkery on Washington

Washington Avenue Drinkery is yet another addition to the new Washington Avenue cluster of bars that was created by the owners of Corkscrew wine bar.

This place truly stands out among the rest. With their brightly colored walls and inviting setting, the Drinkery is the place to be. As well as their walls being painted a cool color of yellow along the walls of the bar there are funny quotes that can have your head spinning if you try to read them all. This had me entertained for quite some time and had me and my friends laughing all night.

On many weekday nights they have live entertainment here, with no cover charge! During the week it is hard to find a place that has live bands, but this place has got it. This is a perfect spot to chill on a weekday. You can get the Washington Avenue experience without the hype. They pride themselves on being one of the least pretentious bars on Washington Avenue (check out their website to see what I mean).

I am most impressed with their beer tap selection. They only have Texas beers on tap! This truly made the Drinkery a top bar on my list. Any place that has no domestics on tap and supports local Texas beers is all good in my book!

With Washington Avenue being the place to be on the weekends this place will fill up on weekend nights, as will their parking lot. Be sure to be careful when parking anywhere else other than their lot, because places do tow! It is actually your best bet to take a cab this way you do not even have to worry about parking, and you can have as many of their famous WAD shooters as you want!
