Finding the best Houston clubs can be a real challenge. Nightclubs differ from your generic bar in that the music, atmosphere, and clientele are very important. You're out to have a great night, relieve some stress, and party! Maybe you're celebrating a special occasion, or want on excuse to dress up and show the crowd your dance moves. Whatever your reasons you need to find the right place that fits your style and expectations.

A night out at Houston clubs can be a night to remember or a real disappointment. After all, you took the effort to get all dressed up, invite your friends, pay a cover charge, and stay out late into the night.

Music, lighting, and atmosphere are critical in a night club. And with each club featuring different DJs and music styles on different nights it's easy to end up at the wrong place. You have about a 2 hour window (from 12am to 2am) to get it right and really get your party on.

You can get VIP treatment and bottle service at most Houston clubs. But the extra expense may not be necessary. Many Houston clubs have a place to rest your feet without paying for seating or a table. Check our reviews and the clubs website to find out what you really need.

The dress code and door policy is strict in many Houston clubs. Do your best to look fly. Ladies, go classy not trashy and you're guaranteed to get in and turn heads. Gentlemen, wear a button down shirt with a collar, slacks, and dress shoes and you shouldn't have many problems. Many Houston clubs will let you in wearing nice tailored blue jeans. None of the nice Houston clubs allow baggy jeans, tennis shoes, hats, or t-shirts. But if in doubt, overdress!

A strict door policy keeps Houston clubs classy, fun, and safe. Always carry a photo ID. If you don't have a valid Texas Drivers license with a photo bring a second photo ID as some clubs may require it. Gentlemen, if you don't have ladies with you then you are likely to be turned away; if you must come without ladies then try entering in pairs rather than a larger group. Be warned that table reservations do not guarantee entry at most clubs. Also, be prepared to pay cash for the cover charge as some Houston night clubs do not accept credit cards at the door.

It's a good idea to read through the reviews by Houston Nightlife Scene writers before you go out in Houston. You can see the profile of the writer by clicking on their name to get a better idea of their style and personality.
