I have a love/hate relationship with Washington Avenue. I love the bars and clubs, but hate the difficult parking and walking between bars! Enter the Washington Wave; a new jitney (shuttle) service that will move you safely between Washington Avenue businesses. We all know that means hauling drunk people between the bars! The jitney runs Thursday through Saturday 6:00 pm to 3:00 am. It costs $5 per ride or $8 for an all night pass. You can catch The Wave along its route or park at their free lot at Houston and Memorial Avenue. Thank you Washington Wave for making Washington Avenue a safer place to party! So you think that New Years eve is the biggest and best night of the year to go out? Well think again because the biggest night of the year in Houston is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. What? Did you hear me? Yes, the Day before Thanksgiving.

Many bars and clubs run specials so you can get away before Turkey day. Most people have a day off of work on Thanksgiving which is another reason why it is a popular night to go out. Ya, Thanksgiving is a family day, so why not get away before you can't!

Rocbar in downtown is having their Thanksgiving night on Wednesday. The specials are amazing, with $5 Jager bombs and $2 lone stars! They will also have a DJ spinning all night long. Go to Rocbar, this is where I will be!

Wild West on Richmond has been a staple for the Wednesday night Pre-Thanksgiving party for years now. Wednesday is also their ladies night. Ladies always get in free and for the men, sorry a small cover of $5 is usually the staple. They have a huge dance floor where you can show off your moves and groove all night. Their drink specials run from $2 specials to $4 specials! You will still have money left over to bring a pie from House of Pies to Grandma's house.
